Feb 06, 2009  Re: cursor jumps when typing ‎ 05:51 AM Just throwing a thought into the pot; I note that the touchpad has been turned off and the cursor is still 'jumping', is the press to select function for the trackpoint also turned off? If that makes no difference, plug in a USB mouse & use that instead.

I've been having a problem ever since I got a new Dell U2417H monitor and plugged it into my laptop via HDMI.
I am running Win 8.1 since I got the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga, with no similar issues ever occurring before.

The cursor jumps to an edge or corner of the screen, recently it's been the bottom right corner, always to the exact same spot every time. Then it moves in that area erratically, possibly clicking and then stops after a second.
This has happened even when I had my mouse disconnected, and when I had my pen tablet disconnected. (AKA no external control over the mouse) but it has never happened when I was using the laptop normally, which leads me to believe the issue is somehow related to the monitor itself.
It happens once in a while, sometimes a few minutes, sometimes 30 seconds or so. It's not gone to the point of being totally intolerable but it is annoying to say the least.
It's not related to my hand touching the touchpad while typing because I am using a USB mechanical keyboard, and am nowhere near the touchpad itself. Also hard to believe it's the touchpad when the cursor always jumps to the same location.
I have scanned my computer for viruses and malware, and did not find anything.
Restarting the computer did not solve the issue.
Turning off Enhance Pointer Position did not help.
SnapTo is disabled.
