Fallout 3 Darker Nights
The lighting is too dark (self.Fallout) submitted 5 years ago by freshfromdakoochie post-apocalyptia today whenever i play Fallout 3 or New vegas, it always is dark as hell for me. Especially at nighttime i can barely see anything 3 feet in front of me. FOIP (Fallout Interoperability Program) is a cooperative project between many major mod developers to provide Compatiblity Patches (CP's) between major mods. All of the mods below are part of the FOIP program, and were used in tandem with FWE's development. You can get the FOIP CP's through the Fallout 3 Nexus.
Change up the colors
Mod: Fellout (Get it at Nexus Mods)
One of the design decisions that made the world of Fallout 3 so bleak was the color of the sky. That greenish tint gave everything a wasteland-like appearance, but the blue skies we've seen in the Fallout 4 trailers look much more inviting. Thankfully, modders agree, and you can easily get that effect in Fallout 3 by installing Fellout. It removes the greenish tint from both indoor and outdoor settings, and makes days brighter and nights darker. There's also a Fallout Street Lights mo that adds illuminated signs and street lights across the map to lighten up those darker nights.
So I've finally gotten back to FO3 after being away awhile (and running into the quad-core/64bit Windows problems).Downloaded the new 1.2beta FOOK (I'd previously had 1.0), installed it and just did a quick 'does it crash' test. Seemed to work fine, so I figured all was good. In the meantime, I threw out my old files, since HD space on the PC I do internet things on is getting low.
Next time I played FO3, I ran into a minor issue - can't see a damn thing at night. Only then, reading the new mod notes, did I notice that they now include Fellout.
Fallout 3 Darker Nights Mod
I only use FOOK for the guns & armor. I've never liked, or thought Beth's games have needed, 'Darker Nights/Interiors' mods.Did some Google searches, but couldn't find an answer.... is there any way to get rid of the darker nights bits in FOOK2?
